Prayer: Father, how much is all? Help me to convey today, what all means. Help me to live before You and man, what a lifestyle of all means. In Yeshua’s name, amen.
Reading: Psalm 138:1
1 Of David.
I praise You with all my heart.
In the presence of the mighty I will sing praises to You.
Attention: I have been focusing on the Word all for a couple of years. So, today when I read Psalm 138, the first thing which jumped off the page was David’s opening statement, “I praise You (Adonai) with all my heart!”
I have established with you as a follower of the Choose Life Journal plan, that in the Inductive method of studying the Bible, one of the principles is to watch for duplicated or repeated words. This includes other passages or books of the Bible. So, as you study with me, observe the repetition of words.
Here are a few examples of other references and usage of the word all in scripture:
* Matthew 28:18-20 Begins with “All authority in heaven and on earth…(continues with)..Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, (continues with), teaching them (disciples) to observe all I have commanded you, (continues), I am with you always!”
* Colossians 1:15-20 Begins with, “He (Christ Yeshua-Messiah) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation (continues with), For by Him all things were created, (continues) He exists before everything, and in Him all holds together, (continues) He is the head of the body, His community. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead—so that He might come to have first place in all things. (continues), For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him (continue) and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself!”
*Luke 10:27 “You shall love Adonai your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and your neighbor as yourself.”
So, the question scripture brings to each of us is, how much is all? Yeshua told his disciples, “All authority is in Me and has been given to Me” as recorded by Matthew. Paul told the Ekklesia in Colossae, the all-inclusive character of Yeshua, His sufficiency, and the doctor, Luke records Yeshua’s command to love God with the entirety of our being, with everything we are, heart, mind, and soul.
How much is all? The early apostles said, “we’ve left everything of our own to follow You (Luke 18:28).” How much does Adonai require of us?
Action: I will give Adonai everything, all my heart, all my mind, and all my soul!
Yield: Surrender is yielding.
Engage: Total love for Adonai is engaging.
Relationship: I love Adonai because He first loved me.
Prayer: Father, I love You and I seek to love You more completely every day. My I express my love for You like David, with all my heart! Amen.
Memory Verse: Luke 10:27
27 And he replied, “You shall love Adonai your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.
