Open Your Mouth

Prayer: Father, I am remiss for having not opened my mouth for the unborn. I see from the reading of Your Word, that I have a responsibility to speak on behalf of those who have no voice unless I speak up. Help me to speak up for those who have no voice. Amen.

Reading: Proverbs 31 key: vs. 8-9
Open your mouth on behalf of those unable to speak,
for the justice of all who are destitute.
Open your mouth, judge righteously,
plead the cause of the poor and needy.

Attention: If you claim to be a Yeshua follower, we have a huge responsibility to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. Today’s scripture is based on instruction given by a mother to her son, who is a king. She ends here teaching with wisdom about speaking for those who cannot speak for themselves, the “destitute, …poor and needy.”

One of those people groups who have a limited voice, are widows. Based on James (Jacob) 1:27, the words he uses say, “Pure and undefiled religion before God and Father is this: to care for orphans and widows.” He is saying, if you seek an organic demonstration of your faith, you can do no better than to care for widows and orphans! Why? Because they are two groups of people who are disadvantaged, taken advantage of and need your help. They are the purest form of religion because they are not able to return financially, any form of help you have given them.

I listened recently to a video interview of Abby Johnson. If you are not familiar with Abby, she formerly worked for Planned Parenthood. She had two abortions but it was not until she witnessed an abortion, that she experienced the conviction of the gravity of her actions and an estimated 40-50 million abortions performed annually around the world. Her is a link to Abby’s story: https://youtu.be/d0NWZlZN5R8 .

If you currently are not lending your voice to a cause for an of the voiceless causes, I encourage you to find a cause and speak up and speak out. Open your mouth for the voiceless.

Action: I will lend my voice for the (pick a group) widow and advocate for her care.

Yield: I am yielded when I open my mouth for the disadvantaged.

Engage: I am engaged when I open my mouth for a disadvantaged group.

Relationship: I am in relationship with Yeshua when I speak up for widows.

Prayer: Father, help me to advocate and open my mouth for those who have no voice! In the name of Yeshua. Amen.

Memory Verse: Matthew 25:40
40 “And answering, the King will say to them, ‘Amen, I tell you, whatever you did to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.
