What is your response to Widows and Orphans?

Prayer: Father, oh that I would see the world like You. May I see and care for those You care for deeply. May I be a person of action. Amen.

Reading: Joby 22 key: vs. 9
You sent widows away empty-handed
and crushed the arms of orphans.

Attention: If you have read my journals and know my background, you know that widows are on my radar of care. They still are a pivotal center of concern from me.

Widows are a hidden, underserved segment of our society. According to an article titled, Peace, Love and Grief (widow statistics – Peace, Love & Grief (peaceloveandgrief.com), widows are highly likely to suffer a major illness or death within the first year of loss of spouse. They are also more likely than married women of the same age to be financially disadvantaged.

Notice the accusation of Eliphaz to Job in verse nine, “You sent widows away empty handed.” I refuse to be accused of sending away widows, empty handed.

In the life of Elisha, a widow approached him in desperation, claiming her husband had died, creditors were at her door threatening to take her two children as slaves unless she paid her debt. She said all she had was a jar of oil. Elisha instructed her to go to her neighbors and collect all the empty jars she could find. She poured, and she poured, and poured until all the vessels she had were filled. God provided through Elisha and the oil, an income to pay her debt.

First Place Ministries has launched a business strategy called “Operation Goel.” The purpose of this strategy is to create a residual financial stream that places income into the hands of a needful widow. We gift widows a commissionable position on a platform through which we place and direct consumer sales. People who support a widow’s cause will redirect their normal purchases away from Amazon and big box retailers and purchased through her account creating a residual cash flow. If information about Operation Goel is not up on our website, please contact Rolland@firstplaceministries.com.

The need is urgent and has dramatically increased over the past few years. This is a concern for all nations, one which we are addressing with Operation Goel. If you know of someone who is a networker and compassionate about widows, please direct them to me. We will have no shortage of widows we can help if we have those who are willing to engage. Let us pour oil for the benefit of the widow. Let us be a Goel for a widow beginning today!

Action: I will engage in Operation Goel to benefit widows in need and not send them away empty handed.

Yield: When I engage, I am yielding to God’s design for the care of widows.

Engage: I will engage in the financial care of widows.

Relationship: I am in full relationship with God when I actively care for the widowed.

Prayer: Father, I pray for a multitude of people to respond to the aide of the widowed today. May we together form a team which will meet the needs of thousands of widows, worldwide. Amen.

Memory verse: Ruth 4:14
14 Then the women said to Naomi, “Blessed be Adonai, who has not left you without a goel today. May his name be famous throughout Israel.
