Prayer: Father, no one compares to You! No one. Amen.
Reading: Job 41 key: vs. 2b-3
Who then is able to stand before Me?
3 Who has confronted Me that I should repay?
Everything under heaven belongs to Me.
Attention: Adonai continues to speak to Job in this chapter. The bottom line when all is said and done, Adonai declares of Himself, “there is no other (Isaiah 45:18b & 46:9b)!” I would encourage everyone to read Isaiah 45-46 in conjunction with our key passage today found in vs. 2-3.
God is saying there will come a time when those who railed against me will be humbled. They will not be able to stand and wave their fist at him, for they will be humbled, “every knee will bow.”
Twice, the Apostle Paul quotes Isaiah in his writings to the Romans (14:11) and Philippians (2:10-11). Both references are from Isaiah’s prophetic writings. God will not be toyed with. A day of reckoning is coming. Only the righteous will be able to stand and declare the blood of Jesus as their righteousness. All others will be humbled.
Job is humbled before God. Even as righteous as Adonai declared him (Job 1:8 & 2:3), he had much to learn about who God is. Imagine the newfound respect which Job had after being questioned and listening to Adonai. His life, his thoughts, were transformed. Job was never the same.
We will see and hear a new man, a restored man in the concluding chapter of the book of Job. He lives another 140 years after the physical attack by the Satan, and his encounter with Adonai.
Action: I embrace and declare that there is no one or none other like Adonai.
Yield: When I declare there is none other like Adonai.
Engage: I engage with Adonai when I declare there is none other.
Relationship: I am humble when I declare Adonai’s praise.
Prayer: Father, I acknowledge and declare that there is none other like You. I praise You this day as the sovereign King of the universe. You are Lord overall, amen.
Memory Verse: Isaiah 46:8-10
8 “Remember this, and be assured.
Recall it to mind, you transgressors.
9 Remember the former things of old:
For I am God—there is no other.
I am God, and there is none like Me—
10 declaring the end from the beginning,
from ancient time, what is yet to come,
saying, “My purpose will stand,
and I will accomplish all that I please.”
