Conspire Against Adonai

Prayer: Father, I am happy because I delight in Your Word, and I take refuge in You. You are my rock, my fortress, my strong tower. Thank You for Your daily provision and protection. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Reading: Psalm 2 key: vs. 1-2
Why are the nations in an uproar,
and the peoples mutter vanity?
The kings of earth set themselves up
and rulers conspire together against Adonai
and against His Anointed One:

Attention: I discovered something today in Psalms 2 which I have read many times before, but the reality of our current global situation helps to bring it into focus. The Psalmist asks a question, “Why are the nations in an uproar, and the peoples mutter vanity?” Never has there been a greater time of polarity, chaos, and blatant disinformation and lies been foisted upon mankind.

Have you ever asked yourself a question and then figured it out? The Psalmist gives us the answer in context with his discovery. “The kings of the earth set themselves up and rulers conspire together against Adonai and against His Anointed One.” If we will grasp this one discovery, it will help us to make sense of the global chaos. The kings and rulers “conspire” (root of conspiracy) together against God and His Anointed One (Jesus).

It is a spiritual battle my friends. The sooner we put in context the bigger picture of who is behind this, the sooner we begin to battle with the true enemy and not each other.

This discovery reminded me of another discovery years ago found in Psalms 51. I will save my observations till then, but it is an awareness about our sin and Who David declares his sin is toward. We must realize Who our sin is against and Who it grieves. Awareness will make a difference in how we live before God.

Action: When we know what is happening in the world and who the battle is with, we know better how to pray. I will join the battle!  Yield: I am surrendered when I know whose side I am on.

Engaged: The Psalmist declares the happy man delights in God’s Word and takes refuge in Him.

Relationship: Relationship is delighting in the Torah and abiding in Him.

Prayer: Father, I love Your Word and the instruction which is available to me when I open the Bible and read (eat) Your wise instruction. Help me to abide in You today. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Memory Verse: Revelation 19:15
15 From His mouth comes a sharp sword—so that with it He may strike down the nations—and He shall rule them with an iron rod, and He treads the winepress of the furious wrath of Elohei-Tzva’ot.
