Tell of His Greatness

Prayer: Father, we have history together. You are always the same, yesterday, today, and forever. Thank You, amen.

Reading: Psalm 9 key: vs. 11
11 Those who know Your Name trust You—
for You, Adonai, never have forsaken those who seek You.

Attention: I remember as child, being amazed that my parents knew something that me or one of my siblings had done. It was like, how did they know that? Then I became a parent and recognized the same behaviors indicating guilt. My children were amazed in the same way. How did I know that about my children? Experience.

How do I come to trust God? I come to trust Him from knowing Him through the Word (the Bible) and from experience. David had history with God (Adonai), and he knew God to be completely, fully dependable, and faithful. He had never let him down or forsaken him. This is a character of God which I have experienced over the course of my life.

There have been many more things I have learned about God, like, I cannot hide from Him (think Adam & Eve), or run away from Him (like Jonah), or even forget Him.

Can you, like David, recount the times that God has rescued you, healed you, provided for you, protected, and defended you? If you can, this is called a “testimony.” When we share what God has done for us, you are “testifying” to God’s divine intervention. If you can testify to God’s intervention, will you share it with someone? Tell of these God things to your family, friends of faith and associates through this day.

Action: I will testify today of the faithfulness of God.

Yield: When I submit to God, I yield my life to Him.

Engage: An engaged life recognizes God’s reign over my heart, mind, and soul.

Relationship: Give God praise today. Testify of His goodness and faithfulness.

Prayer: Father, may I be like David with a heart filled with recognition and praise of You. You have been so faithful to me. Amen.
