Ponder and Declare

Prayer: Father, the Bible sounds so contemporary. Thank You for Your instruction and guidance. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Reading: Psalm 64 key: vs. 2-3
Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint.
Protect my life from terror of the enemy.
Hide me from the conspiracy of evildoers,
from the tumult of workers of iniquity,

Attention: The more I study God’s Word, the more I understand Solomon’s claim, “There is nothing new under the sun” (Ecclesiastes 1:9). The many ways that man sins have not changed. The sophistication of sin and its methods has changed. We are bombarded with images which create emotions and guide us into sin. Remember that word, “images.” We must limit, no avoid, the volume of images which overwhelm us each day. How do we do this today? Consider eliminating mainstream media. Consider blocking certain social media streams. If you are going to pick a side, pick God’s side. The corruption is pervasive and extends all over the planet. Loyalties have already been struck between the leaders who are purveying evil.

Do David’s words today, sound familiar? When have we heard more claims of conspiracy from those who are conspiring? How did David know what was happening around him? The Spirit of God was leading him. There are only two sides in the spiritual realm. We are told by the apostle John, to “test the spirits to see if they are from God” (1 John 4:1). I encourage you to read this passage through verse 6.

David uses an interesting word in verse 10, “ponder.” I hope you will ponder his words today like Miriam (Mary, the mother of Jesus, Luke 2:19) did with the words told to her by the shepherds. May we ponder and declare the word of the Lord today.

Action: I will ponder God’s Word today and give Him glory!

Yield: I am yielding my thought life to God when I ponder His Word.

Engage: I am engaged with God and being transformed when I ponder on His Word.

Relationship: I am involved in full relationship when I ponder and act upon God’s Word.

Prayer: Father, consume my mind and my thoughts today. Help me to ponder Your Word. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Memory Verse: 1 John 4:5-6
They are from the world, so they speak from the world and the world listens to them. We are from God; whoever knows God listens to us, but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
