March Edition
March is here! March tends to be a busy month. Activities pick up in anticipation of Spring. Average temperatures tend to rise, and daylight savings time heralds the seasonal change (March 12).
I find myself with less to say today. I want to thank everyone who held my family up in prayer. My father transitioned to glory on February 14 at 2:14 a.m. My mother called me on the 12th, and I traveled to them on the 13th. Within twelve hours of my arrival, Dad passed. It was a very peaceful transition.
I have twin nieces who are both nurses. They provided unequalled superior care at my parent’s apartment. He was surrounded by family 24/7 for the last few days of his earthly life. It really was quite an experience watching the process of transition of a faithful one, into the arms of The Faithful One.
Dad leaves behind five greatgrandchildren, seven grandchildren, four children, and a wife who stood faithfully by him for approaching 71 years. He would have been 90 years old this August. Mom turns 90 in November. Dad also leaves a brother and sister.
This chapter is over, a new chapter begins. Thank you for your prayers.

If you have followed First Place Ministries for any length of time, you know that I emphasize serendipities, or what I call, God planned appointments. My wife, Caliatra, mentioned a man named Jimmy Meeks to me and his Sheep Dog Seminars Sheepdog Seminars for Churches (sheepdogsafetytraining.com) She had met and become familiar with Jimmy Meeks through her time as a chaplain for Law Enforcement and First Responders.
My interview with Jimmy is especially timely, as he will be in the Eastern and Southwestern parts of Washington State in March. All the information is on his website which I linked above. If you know of a pastor in the Moses Lake/Spokane or Vancouver/Portland/Longview areas, please pass this information onto them. You may just save someone’s life and avoid what is too prevalent in our media headlines.
This past week we witnessed a shooter at Michigan State University. Unfortunately, because the press doesn’t cover many shootings in church, we think it doesn’t occur in houses of faith. Please take this seriously. People of faith are targets all over the world. Evil is real and vengeful. Be not naïve.

These titles qualify her to participate in the 2023 Ms. Senior USA and Ms. Senior Universe Pageants held in Orlando, Florida March 25-29.
