April Edition
I’m composing the April newsletter on a very sunny day in March, a couple of days prior to the official start of spring (March 20). It has been great to hear the birds singing in the early mornings of late. Trees are beginning to bud. Late nights and early mornings are chilly. By the time you read this, I will have returned from a week in Orlando, Florida. Caliatra is participating in the National Ms. Senior USA pageant and Ms. Senior Universe pageants. Currently, Orlando weather temperatures are in the 70’s. Hallelujah!
April 9 is the most significant Holy Day for followers of Yeshua. Celebrations for the resurrection of Yeshua will be observed this day all over the world. Nations of followers will celebrate the Only Son of Adonai as our risen Savior and Lord. I encourage you to celebrate Yeshua well, in lifestyle through online postings, flowers, observing Communion, worship, singing, corporate gatherings, repentance, daily communing with God, study of Scripture, prayer and fasting. May this be a day of rededication and dedication to an expanded lifestyle of holiness. May this be the year of greatest celebration by Christ followers.
I want to encourage you to consider the Choose Life Journal method of Bible Study as a way to establish a deeper walk with Yeshua. I had the pleasure of interviewing Cheryl Thomas, a prophetic voice in the Portland, Oregon area. She is the Founder & TV show host of God Encounters since 2016. She’s also a business owner, speaker, worship leader, singer, songwriter, composer, musician, wife, mother and grandmother.
She currently serves many other ministries as well: Grace Extending, Aglow Int., Revival Harvest Ministries, Lively Hope Ministries (and was ordained by Denise Beard of LHM), Precious Daughters, Compassion to Action, Hearts of Fire, Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship and Be the Vessel Now.
I enjoyed the interview with Cheryl because she reinforced several elements or lifestyle characteristics of what we have referred to as Ekklesia. In our conversation watch for her comments about concern for the nations. Cheryl has a few countries of concern to which she has traveled and ministered. She spoke about the Seven Mountains and being involved in all aspects of our culture. In the past couple of years in identifying as an Ekklesia’n, the like-minded people are involved in their community. They are school board members, city council members, convention delegates, tutors, medical practitioners, lawyers, business owners, or chaplains. Discipleship was emphasized by Cheryl and discipleship is a key focus of First Place Ministries.
