Reading: Leviticus 17 Key: vs. 11
11 For the life of the creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your lives—for it is the blood that makes atonement because of the life.
Attention: I went to my earthly physician recently, for my annual checkup. He ordered a blood draw to run various tests to determine my health. My point is not to disclose the results, but to confirm that he too knows that life and health is in the blood. Our blood has indicators which can tell a doctor if everything is functioning normally.
Adonai told Moses and he relayed the information to the children of Israel and then documented it for all mankind future.
“The life of every creature, its blood is in its life (vs. 14).” The life of mankind and every creature is in the blood.
Occult practices by people of other nations, included drinking the blood of their sacrifices. Adonai told Moses in very specific terms, “No person among you may eat (drink) blood.” For offenders, Adonai declared, “I will set my face against that soul—the one who eats blood—and will cut them off from among his people.” They would become outcasts among the Bnei-Yisrael.
As a child, I remember a hymn song titled “There is Power in the Blood.” The song asked if you were washed in the blood of the Lamb. I believe in the power of the blood of Yeshua as the Lamb of God, which cleanses the sin of the world, yours and mine.
There is power in the blood. I hope you have experienced the power, cleansing power of Yeshua’s blood.
Action: I embrace the power found in Yeshua’s blood to cleanse me of my sin.
Yield: Asking Yeshua to cleanse me of sin.
Engage: Giving my life to Yeshua.
Relationship: I begin relationship with Adonai when I receive the cleansing power of Yeshua’s blood.
Prayer: Father, there is power, cleansing power in the blood of Yeshua. Thank You for washing and forgiving me of sin. Salvation and life are found only, in Yeshua! Amen.
