Holiness Code

Prayer: Father, I want to be holy just as You are Holy. Give me instruction today, in Yeshua’s name. Amen.

Reading: Leviticus 19 key: vs. 1
Adonai spoke to Moses saying:

Attention: Each branch of the USA military has a code. If you have viewed the movie A Few Good Men, you heard the Marine code expressed in a military court setting. They spoke of Honor, Courage, and Commitment. Here is what the U.S. Marine Corp site says about “Honor” Marine Corps Values | Marines, “Honor guides Marines to exemplify the ultimate in ethical and moral behavior. Never lie, never cheat or steal; abide by an uncompromising code of integrity; respect human dignity and respect others. Honor compels Marines to act responsibly, to fulfill our obligations and to hold ourselves and others accountable for every action.” Marines are expected to maintain a high standard of moral and ethical integrity.

Did you know that Adonai gave us, through the Torah, His high standards and ethical integrity? In the very first verse, He says, “You shall be kedoshim (saints, holy ones), for I, Adonai your God, am holy.” We like to say, I want to be who You God want me to be, and then turn around like this is some sort of mystery and say, “I’m seeking God’s will.” My friends, Adonai has told us who He wants us to be. He wants us to be holy. Here is a partial listing of the lifestyle of His followers found in this chapter:

* Respect your mother and father and keep My Shabbatot (Sabbath) vs. 3
* You are not to turn to idols or make molten gods. vs. 4
* You are not to steal, lie, or deceive one another. vs. 11
* You are not to swear by My Name falsely. vs. 12
* You are not to oppress your neighbor, nor rob him. vs. 13
* You are not to curse the deaf, nor put a stumbling block before the blind. vs. 14
* You are not to hate your brother in your heart. vs. 17
* Do not turn to those who are mediums or to soothsayers. vs. 31
* Do not be dishonest in judgements—in measurements of length, weight or of quantity. vs. 35

Adonai (God) also has a code of honor and holiness. His code contains the descriptions of the lifestyle of those who love Him, fear Him, follow Him.

Consider at least one today to add to your lifestyle as a code to live by. Say to Adonai, I want my life to be holy, representative of You, obedient to You. Please forgive me for not representing You well. I want others to see Adonai in my life.

Action: Beginning today, I want my closest friends by my actions, to see Adonai.

Yield: I give over my rights to live however I want. I give my rights to Adonai.

Engage: I can only live a holy life in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Relationship: When the Holy Spirit lives in and through me.

Prayer: Father, I fail in so many ways to represent You every day. Thank You for reminding me of the many ways which I can represent You, honor You and others. Amen.

Memory Verse: 2 Corinthians 5:15
15 And He died for all so that those who live might no longer live for themselves, but for the One who died for them and was raised.
