Hiram a Bronze Craftsman

Prayer: Father, You can give anyone the wisdom to become a skilled craftsman. May more of Your followers recognize and request Your gifting for special services. Amen.

Reading: 1 Kings 7 key: vs. 13 & 14 “King Solomon sent for and had Hiram brought from Tyre. He was a widow’s son from the tribe of Naphtali, while his father was a man of Tyre, a coppersmith, and he was filled with wisdom, understanding and skill to do any work in bronze. So he came to King Solomon and executed all his work.” TLV

Attention: In reading about Solomon sending for Hiram, I thought of an American glass artist by the name of Dale Chihuly. I first viewed one of his glass exhibits at the Seattle Center. Chihuly was born in Tacoma, Washington so he is a Northwest Native who has become known for his use of glass as a large-scale art medium. He has become world renowned and there he has several exhibits around the world (Chihuly).

While many artists, sculptors, legal minds, professors, scientists, musicians, may have a God-given talent, do they recognize God as the source? Hiram possessed Adonai’s gifting. He was “filled with wisdom, understanding and skill to do any work in bronze.” According to Wikipedia, “Bronze is an alloy consisting primarily of copper, commonly with about 12–12.5% tin and often with the addition of other metals (including aluminum, manganese, nickel, or zinc) and sometimes non-metals, such as phosphorus, or metalloids such as arsenic or silicon.”

Bronze was a skill taught to him by his father, “a coppersmith.” We know from the scriptures, that his father was deceased as his mother is described as a widow. Yet, he had already become well known for his skill which was divinely given. Hiram’s skill was utilized to provide the bronze furnishings and support columns of the Temple, many overlaid with gold.

My hope today is that followers of Adonai’s, especially young followers, will acknowledge a gifting which they already possess and super-size it with God’s blessing, acknowledging their gifting comes from God. Then give it back to Him and watch as He uses You to build His kingdom. Then, give Him the glory!

Action: I choose today to ask Adonai for an infusing of Holy Spirit power in the gifting he has laid upon you, for His glory.

Yield: I choose to yield to the Holy Spirit in giving me wisdom and power to fulfill my gifting.

Engage: I choose today to engage with the Holy Spirit’s magnifying of my God given gifting.

Relationship: I choose today to live in intimate relationship with God.

Prayer: Father, when our gifts are Holy Spirit infused, the world will see creativeness which outshines the rest and glorifies You. May Your followers seek Your anointing with all their heart, mind, and soul. Amen.

Memory Verse: Philippians 2:13 “For the One working in you is God—both to will and to work for His good pleasure.” TLV
