Prayer: Father, Your servant is ready to receive instruction. Open my eyes, heart, and mind to make new discoveries. Amen.
Reading: Isaiah 19 key: vs. 21-23 “So Adonai will make Himself known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know Adonai in that day. They will worship with sacrifice and offering. They will vow to Adonai, and fulfill it. So Adonai will strike Egypt—striking yet healing—so they will return to Adonai, and He will respond to them and heal them. In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrians will come to Egypt, and the Egyptians to Assyria, and the Egyptians will worship with the Assyrians.” TLV
Attention: King Solomon utters these words as only a king would best know, “A king’s heart is like a stream of water in the hand of Adonai; he directs it wherever He wants” (Proverbs 21:1).
The striking words of Adonai’s prophecy through the writing of Isaiah underscores King Solomon’s words. Two common enemies of Israel’s were Egypt and Assyria. Both were used as instruments of judgement upon Israel, and both were humbled by Adonai. He used them for His purposes and then subjects them to “a cruel master—a fierce king.” His supremacy enables Him to cause a spirit of confusion, “Egyptian against Egyptian, …city against city, kingdom against kingdom… I will confuse its counsel so they will resort to idols, charmers, mediums, and familiar spirits.” He gives them over to that which they have worshipped.
Adonai prophetically declares a day when the Egyptians make an “altar to Adonai in the middle of the land of Egypt, and next to the border a pillar to Adonai. It will be as a sign and a witness to Adonai-Tzva’ot in the land of Egypt. For they will cry to Adonai because of oppressors, and He will send them a savior and defender—and he will deliver them.”
Did you hear that? The nation of Egypt will cry out to God for deliverance from oppression and He will deliver them! They will turn to and worship Adonai. I encourage you to watch for a turning towards Adonai by the nation of Egypt and a highway between Egypt and Assyria.
God can move our hearts as easily as He moves the hearts of kings. He can do it the hard way (for us) or the easy way, through judgement or obedience.
Action: I choose to live a life of obedience towards Adonai.
Yield: I choose to give my life, heart, and mind willfully to Adonai.
Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirit in living a life pleasing to Adonai.
Relationship: I choose to live in intimate relationship with Adonai.
Prayer: Father, I thank You for your discipline which shows me that You love me. Thank You for the corrective judgement You bring on our nation and nations which defy Your commandments and in opposition worship false gods. You are Supreme, the only True God. Amen.
Memory Verse: Isaiah 45:5-6 “I am Adonai—there is no other. Besides Me there is no God. I will strengthen you, though you have not known Me, so they may know, from the rising to the setting of the sun, that there is no one besides Me. I am Adonai—there is no other.” TLV
