Pursue Justice, Know Justice

Prayer: Father, apart from You, there is no justice. Apart from Your Word, justice is not realized. Amen.

Reading: Isaiah 51 key: vs. 1 & 7 “Listen to Me, you who pursue justice, you who seek Adonai. Look to the rock from which you were hewn, and to the quarry from which you were dug. Listen to Me, you who know justice, a people with My Torah in their heart: Do not fear the taunt of men, nor be dismayed at their insults.” TLV

Attention: There has been no other people group which has experienced the magnitude of oppression over the course of history, more than the Jewish people. The level of antisemitism over the centuries has no comparison. Even recently, protests of antisemitism have risen in our nation over the recent actions in the middle east.

Are there other people groups which have suffered injustice? Yes. When we attempt to rewrite history, we can alter the narrative to focus on one people group or diminish other’s sorrows, when over the course of history, many different people groups have suffered injustice.

Twice, Adonai admonishes the Hebrew nation through Isaiah, “Listen to Me.”  If you are pursuing justice, you find justice when you seek Me. Justice is founded in Me, Adonai. Justice is anchored in Me through My Torah. Justice is founded upon the foundation of Me and My Torah when it is in your heart.

I will give you two examples of God’s justice found in His Word. We all know John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Is there any limitation or mention of God not loving all the peoples of the world? His love, like His justice, is all inclusive. He loves all colors and all nations. Does God discriminate in His exercising His love to people? No.

Luke records another example, “Do to others as you would have them do to you” (Luke 6:31). Does God qualify His standards by sex, nationality, or color? This verse is called the Golden Rule. Why? Because it is the Gold Standard of God. Imagine what our world, our nation, our city or town, our schools, and families would be like if we just applied this one rule.

My friends, life is much better if we follow God’s rules and standards than the narrative of the world.

Action: I choose today to listen to God and His Word for guidance in my life.

Yield: I choose today to yield my wisdom to God’s wisdom for justice.

Engage: I choose today to engage in the lifestyle of searching the Word for practical justice.

Relationship: I choose to live in obedient, intimate relationship with God.

Prayer: Father, life is just more peaceful when our lives are anchored in and on You. You are the Rock upon which my life and standards are based. You are the standard by which I choose to live. Amen.

Memory Verse: Luke 6:31 “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” TLV
