Prayer: Father, I not only have a new name, but I also have a new identity. I am Yours. Teach me today to stand tall in You. Amen.
Reading: Isaiah 62 key: vs. 1-4 “For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until her righteousness shines out brightly, and her salvation as a blazing torch. Nations will see your righteousness, and all kings your glory. You will be called by a new name, which Adonai’s mouth will bestow. You will also be a crown of beauty in the hand of Adonai, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God. No longer will you be termed “Forsaken,” no longer your land termed “Desolate.” Instead you will be called, “My Delight is in Her” and your land, “Married.” For Adonai delights in you, and your land will be married.” TLV
Attention: My wife has acquired seven titles, crowns and sashes participating in the Ms. and Ms. Senior Pageants. So, in reading today’s scriptures, the words “crown of beauty” and “royal diadem” took on special significance.
My research of the word “diadem” rendered a new understanding, as I recalled a hymn from years ago which had the words, “Bring forth the royal diadem and crown Him Lord of all.” I thought a diadem was the instrument royalty held in their hands. The Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary describes and defines a diadem as “a head covering symbolizing authority and honor.” It was a turban worn by the high priest, “made of fine linen with a gold plate, or a flower rosette of pure gold on the front (pg. 420).” In “Revelation 12:3; 13:1; 19:12 the diadem conveys the idea of power and authority.”
Jerusalem, Zion, The city of David, Israel, the New Jerusalem, all are and will become a “crown of beauty” and “a royal diadem” in the hand of Adonai.
Did you notice the new name Adonai gave to Jerusalem? She will be called, “My Delight is in Her” and your land, “Married.” Have you experience Adonai’s delight? I have experienced His delight. Delight can only be experienced by one who is wholly His. Adonai’s delight is in the one He is married to, not in other nations or lands. He is delighted in the one He is covenanted to.
Action: I choose to be a crown of beauty and a royal diadem in the hand of Adonai.
Yield: I choose to yield to the authority of Yeshua.
Engage: I choose to engage in relationship with Adonai.
Relationship: I choose to live in obedient, intimate relationship with Adonai.
Prayer: Father, thank You for giving me a new name as a born-again child of Yours. Thank You for writing my name in the Book of Life. Thank You for forgiving my iniquity, redeeming my life from the pit, and crowning me with lovingkindness and compassion. Oh, the benefits of being Yours. Amen.
