Boast In This

Prayer: Father, Your wisdom is greater than my wisdom. I seek Your wisdom. Guide me, O great Jehovah! Amen.

Reading: Jeremiah 9 key: vs. 22-23 “Thus says Adonai: “Let not the wise boast in his wisdom nor the mighty boast in his might nor the rich glory in his riches. But let one who boasts boast in this: that he understands and knows Me. For I am Adonai who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth. For in these things I delight.” It is a declaration of Adonai.” TLV

Attention: It was great to readdress this passage of scripture this morning. We can hear men boast of their wealth, their prowess in the ring, their accomplishments, and flaunt their earned or conferred degrees. But men are noticeably silent about knowing God.

Man can spend a lifetime of study, prayer, and meditation and comparatively know little about God. We are finite and He is infinite. The apostle whom Yeshua loved ended his book by saying, “There are also many other things that Yeshua did. If all of them were to be written one by one, I suppose that not even the world itself will have room for the books being written (John 21:25)!”

Adonai has revealed enough of Himself to lead us to Him. Moses summarized the Torah by saying, ““The secret things belong to Adonai our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever—in order to do all the words of this Torah (Deuteronomy 29:29).”

Were you aware that God is more than what He has revealed of Himself? John knew that the gospels did not contain everything which Messiah had done. Moses knew that the Torah did not reveal God in totality. For man to know everything about God is impossible. But it is possible to know God as the perfect Father.

By comparison, my biological father passed away at age 89. I knew him as a child, as an adult and have still learned more about him after his death. I know Adonai, differently today than I did as a child, and adult, and now a senior adult. I know Him better today than yesterday, as He reveals more of Himself to me.

Do you want to know God? A scripture came to me about knowing God and when I looked it up, to my surprise, I found it in Jeremiah 29, “You will seek Me and find Me, when you will search for Me with all your heart (vs. 13).” Knowing God, requires effort on our part. Jeremiah just shared a secret with us. Seek and search for Him with all your heart!

Action: I choose today to begin seeking for God with all my heart.

Yield: I choose to submit to the teaching of the Holy Spirit.

Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirit in seeking Adonai with all my heart.

Relationship: Beginning today, I choose to seek God with all my heart.

Prayer: Father, I choose to seek You with all my heart. I hunger and thirst for more of You. Pour into me the desire for more of You. Amen.

Memory verse: Jeremiah 29:13 “You will seek Me and find Me, when you will search for Me with all your heart.” TLV
