Prayer: Father, Your servant is prepared to listen and learn. Teach me today from Your word. Amen.

Reading: Jeremiah 23 key: vs. 17 “17They keep saying to those who despise Me, ‘Adonai has said, you will have shalom.’ To everyone who walks in the stubbornness of his own heart they say: ‘No evil will come on you.’”  TLV

Attention: I recall a period in my lifetime when Americans declared their belief system on the bumpers and/or back windows of their vehicles. I remember statements and graphics like “Coexist, World Peace, Mother Earth,” and the “Peace” sign. Each of them proposed a philosophy or concept, opposed to the source of True Peace. Christians countered with, “No Peace, No God, Know Peace, Know God.”

Can we agree that we receive communications from the various prophets opposed to God more than we hear messages from Prophets of God? From the scriptures, can we determine that the messengers of God are fewer than the messengers against God? In the book of Jeremiah, Jeremiah is the only voice in his nation. The shepherds, kings, prophets and kohens, all are accused by Adonai of scattering His sheep, committing adultery, or communicating a false message.

Adonai is addressing the leadership of Israel both spiritual and governmental. They all have failed Him. Notice that God makes a “declaration” of judgement upon each level of leadership. God has spoken and He will fulfill His declarations.

God questions Jeremiah, ““Am I God only when near” —it is a declaration of Adonai— “and not God when far off? Can anyone hide himself in places so secret that I will not see him? Do I not fill heaven and earth?” It is a declaration of Adonai (vs. 23-24).”

God is asking us the same question today. There is nowhere we can hide and not be seen. There is nothing we can keep secret from God. He knows our heart; He knows our thoughts. Do not be deceived by the voices of spirits who would tell you, “God doesn’t see.”

Action: I choose to embrace the God of Jeremiah who does see and know.

Yield: I choose to submit to the Sovereign God of the Universe.

Engage: I choose to worship and obey the Sovereign God, Adonai.

Relationship: I choose to live in obedient, submitted relationship with God.

Prayer: Father, may we be not deceived into believing that You do not see, nor do you care. My sin, our sin, is an offense to You. May we choose collectively holiness as a lifestyle. Amen.

Memory Verse: Hebrews 4:12-13 “For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword—piercing right through to a separation of soul and spirit, joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. No creature is hidden from Him, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.” TLV
