Prayer: Father, this is day selected as our resurrection day to celebrate the Messiah’s victory over death. May Your followers all over the world proclaim together, “He is risen!” and “Maranatha.” Amen.
Reading: Jeremiah 24 key: vs. 7 “Then I will give them a heart to know Me—for I am Adonai—and they will be My people, and I will be their God. For they will return to Me with their whole heart.” TLV
Attention: Have you ever eaten a freshly picked fig right off a tree? I have and they are delicious. If you are not familiar, there are between 700-800 named varieties of figs according to the internet and I found a food network article which tells of the “Ten Most Common Types of Figs (Types of Figs: A Guide | Cooking School | Food Network).
“Fresh figs were favored as first fruits (Isa. 28:4; Jer. 24:2). Figs dry very well and were stored as cakes for future use (1 Sam. 25:18; 30:12). Jesus referred to figs and fig trees several times (Matt. 7:16; Luke 21:20-31).” *Source HIBD pg. 1305
Adonai has a conversation with Jeremiah about good figs and bad figs. Jesus used parables as teaching tools about good and bad. One such parable is found in Matthew where the apostle records the words of Yeshua in explaining the meaning to His disciples (Matthew 13:37-38 “He answered, “The one sowing the good seed is the Son of Man, and the field is the world. And the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom; and the weeds are the sons of the evil one.”
God (Adonai) said He would give His people a “heart to know Me.” Do you have to know God? I encourage you to ask God for the desire to know Him. One such way to know God is by the daily study of His word, what we do in Choose Life Journaling. Ask God today for a desire to know Him.
Action: I choose today, to ask God for a desire to know Him.
Yield: I choose to submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirit to place a desire within me to know Him.
Relationship: I choose to live in obedient submission to the supremacy of Adonai.
Prayer: Father, I desire to know You more, deeper, and fuller. Give me a hunger and thirst for You. Amen.
Memory Verse: Philippians 3:10 “My aim is to know Him and the power of His resurrection and the sharing of His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death—.” TLV
