Came to me

Prayer: Father, what intimacy to speak with the Living God. What intimacy to hear from the Living God. May I see from Your Word, Your desire to commune and communicate with me. Amen.

Reading: Ezekiel 7 key: vs. 1-2 “The word of Adonai came to me saying: “You, son of man, thus says Adonai Elohim concerning the land of Israel: An end! The end has come on the four corners of the land.” TLV

Attention: There are two verses of scripture, found in the same chapter of Paul’s letter to the faith community in Corinth which I have taken to heart in the past few years. Many of us are interested and desiring fresh communication from and with God. But what a difference it has made in my own life to understand that God has been communicating and communing with man since He created man. He has always, attempted to draw man into relationship with Himself.

We are privileged to have scripture and bibles which communicate to us conversations between God and man. Paul says it this way, “Now these things happened as examples for us, so we wouldn’t crave evil things, just as they did. Do not be idolaters, as some of them were. As it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.” And let’s not commit sexual immorality, as some of them did—and in one day 23,000 fell. And let’s not test the Lord, as some of them did—and were destroyed by serpents. And let’s not grumble, as some of them did—and were destroyed by the destroying angel. Now these things happened to them as an example, and it was written down as a warning to us—on whom the ends of the ages have come (1 Corinthians 10:6-11).”

The Bible is one big, continuous story of God’s desire to fellowship and commune with man. The stories and accounts of His relationship with man, is recorded in the biblical accounts for a purpose, “to warn us,” so that we may not experience God’s judgement.

I hope you become envious of so many who were inspired by the Holy Spirit to record and document His story. They walked with God and talked with Himl We can do that same. I talk with God constantly throughout the day and night. He wakes me up in the middle of the night. My wife experiences the same thing. We both journal about our encounters and conversations with God. You too can begin a lifestyle of listening, speaking, and communication with God. If you were listening, He spoke to you through Ezekiel.

Action: I choose to listen to God through His word and seek to hear His voice through His Spirit.

Yield: I choose to submit to the Holy Spirit’s discipleship, talking to me through the scriptures, through writers, prophets, apostles, teachers and speaking directly to me.

Engage: I choose to engage in a lifestyle of faith through the power of the Spirit.

Relationship: I choose to live in communion and fellowship with God and man.

Prayer: Father, what an honor to walk and talk with the Supreme God of all creation. You desire fellowship and relationship with me and every follower. Thank you for loving me. Amen.

Memory Verse: 1 Corinthians 10:11 “Now these things happened to them as an example, and it was written down as a warning to us—on whom the ends of the ages have come.” TLV
