Fall of the Mighty

Prayer: Father, may I learn from the fall of the mighty, that there is always someone greater coming down the pike. If I am not willing to humble myself to You, why would I be willing to humble myself to anyone else? You alone are the great Humbler of men. Amen.

Reading: Ezekiel 31 key: vs. 1-2 & 18 “On the first day of the third month of the eleventh year, the word of Adonai came to me saying: “Son of man, say to Pharaoh king of Egypt and to his multitude: ‘Who is like you in your greatness?

‘Who is like you in glory and greatness among the trees of Eden? You will be brought down with the trees of Eden to the lowest parts of the earth. You will lie among the uncircumcised, with those slain by the sword.’ This is Pharaoh and all his multitude.” It is a declaration of Adonai.” TLV

Attention: As a youth, I remember a boxer named Cassius Clay (who later changed his name to Muhammed Ali) being interviewed by Howard Coselle. When Adonai tells Ezekiel to ask Pharoah “Who is like you in your greatness?”, I thought of Muhammed Ali (https://youtu.be/RMZLORnCc2g?si=ytFjEy9icFCngaXN). At his prime, he was untouchable. Yet, others came later who humbled him.

Adonai is declaring, a humbling will come from Him to Pharoah. God has already declared as much to all mankind, to each of us. He prophesied through Isaiah (45:23) and Paul twice documented to the Romans (14:11-12) and the Philippians (2:10-11): “For it is written, “As I live, says Adonai, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall give praise to God.” So then each one of us shall give account of himself to God.”

Lest we ignore this declaration by Adonai to the prophet Isaiah and bring condemnation on ourselves, let’s practice bowing our knee to Adonai, today. We either humble ourselves and bow to the Supreme Sovereign Adonai today, or we will be humbled in front of everyone one day.

Action: I choose to be humble before Adonai and avoid being humbled on judgement day.

Yield: I choose to submit to the Sovereignty of Adonai.

Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirit in living humbly before Adonai.

Relationship: I choose to live in humble, obedient relationship with Adonai.

Prayer: Father, I see a lot of arrogant self-indulgence manifest within our society. Living their own lives, deceived, unaware of the coming judgement. I ask for a massive influx of subscribers who will become aware of Your authority through the scriptures and humble themselves unto salvation. Amen.

Memory Verse: Romans 14:11-12 “For it is written, “As I live, says Adonai, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall give praise to God.” So then each one of us shall give account of himself to God.”
