A Promised New Heart

Prayer: Father, You alone have the power to resurrect, restore, and renew. You alone have built a nation, torn down its cities and Temple, and declared to rebuild it better. Thank You for Your marvelous story of redemption and restoration of Your covenant nation. Amen.

Reading: Ezekiel 36 key: vs. 24 ““‘For I will take you from the nations, gather you out of all the countries and bring you back to your own land.” TLV

Attention: “Israel was formally established as a nation on May 14, 1948. On that historic day, in Tel Aviv, Jewish Agency Chairman David Ben-Gurion proclaimed the State of Israel, establishing the first Jewish state in 2,000 years1. U.S. President Harry Truman was the first world leader to officially recognize Israel as a legitimate Jewish state, doing so only eleven minutes after its creation (internet).”

Many feel that May 14, 1948, witnessed the fulfillment of Adonai’s declaration voiced through Ezekiel 36. Not only did God proclaim His peoples return, but the multiplication of fruit and produce. The land would become a like a “garden of Eden (vs. 35). The cities would be filled with people and “rebuilt (vs. 33), and “I will populate them with people like a flock (vs. 37).”

Amid God’s marvelous restorative work, something mysterious happens; ““I will again be inquired of by the house of Israel (vs. 37),” the people will reach out to Him to do all of this for them. Relationship is reestablished through the new heart God has promised them.

A new heart given by God to those who confess and repent of sin is a heart which walks away from the former life and into new relationship with God (Ephesians 4:17-18). I encourage you to choose life, follow the Messiah Yeshua, and embrace a New Heart.

Action: I choose to follow the God who is the covenant God of Israel.

Yield: I choose to submit to the supreme authority of Adonai.

Engage: I choose to engage with Adonai through His Ruach.

Relationship: I choose to live in obedient, intimate, holy relationship with Adonai.

Prayer: Father, You have written Your story in the Holy Scriptures and on my heart. May many Jews and Greeks come to believe and embrace You through the recorded original scriptures. Amen.

Memory Verse: Ephesians 4:17-18 “So I tell you this, indeed I insist on it in the Lord—walk no longer as the pagans do, stumbling around in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance in them due to the hardness of their heart.”
