Prayer: Father, thank You for the water that flows from Your throne. You are the river of Life. Amen.
Reading: Ezekiel 47 key: vs. 1-6 “Then he brought me back to the door of the House. Behold, water was flowing out from under the threshold of the House eastward—for the front of the House faced east. The water was flowing down from under the right side of the House, south of the altar. He brought me out by way of the north gate and led me around outside by the way of the outer gate, the way of the gate looking east. Behold, water was trickling out from the right side. When the man went out eastward with a line in his hand, he measured a 1,000 cubits. Then he led me into the water—water to the ankles. Again he measured a 1,000, and led me into the water—water to the knees. Again he measured a 1,000, and he led me into the water—water up to the waist. Again he measured a 1,000, and now it was a river that I could not pass through, for the water had risen, water to swim in—a river that could not be crossed. He said to me, “Have you seen this, son of man?” Then he brought me back to the bank of the river.” TLV
Attention: If you have never read the book of Revelation and especially the last two chapters, 21-22, you will observe many similarities of Ezekiel’s vision about the new temple or in John’s case, a New Jerusalem. Both prophets had guided tours with a heavenly messenger. Both messengers had a rod with which they measured the temple or the city of Jerusalem. Both spoke of seeing a river flowing from the Temple or Throne of God. Trees are mentioned which will bear fruit “every month” and the leaves are for the “healing of the nations.” So many similarities.
At the conclusion of the tour, Ezekiel finds himself back where he started, “on the bank of the river.” The messenger had brought Ezekiel full circle. I have experienced the Holy Spirit bringing me full circle, back to my first love. Falling in love again, anew, with Yeshua is necessary for most of us. We find that our heart has grown cold, and we need a fresh encounter with the Living God. Ezekiel was task with bringing the Hebrew nation back to a new love relationship with God.
Action: I choose to embrace a renewal of commitment and relationship today with Yeshua.
Yield: I choose to submit to the sovereignty of Adonai.
Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirit in renewed relationship with God.
Relationship: I choose to live in holy, intimate, relationship with Adonai.
Prayer: Father, I am led back today to the first encounter I had with You. As a nine-year-old boy who gave my heart to You. Thank You for bringing me back to my first love encounter with You. Take me deeper into Your holiness and wisdom. Amen.
Memory Verse: 1 John 4:10 “This is love—not that we have loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atonement for our sins.” TLV
