Let Us Strive

Prayer: Father, You desire relationship with me. I desire relationship with You. Lead me, guide me, O Great Jehovah. Amen.

Reading: Hosea 6 key: vs. 3 “So let us know, let us strive to know Adonai. Like dawn His going forth is certain. He will come to us like the rain, like the latter rain watering the earth.” TLV

Attention: Do you possess a hunger and thirst for God? The Choose Life Journal plan strives to present a relationship with Adonai as desirable beyond all relationships. God is the King of Kings, Supreme above all kings. He sent Messiah, to redeem mankind and provide us with a bridge (Himself) back to relationship with God.

Even Hosea implores Israel (and us) to “strive to know Adonai.” Knowing God was a goal of the apostle Paul. He declared to the faith community in Phillipi, “My aim is to know Him and the power of His resurrection and the sharing of His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death—if somehow I might arrive at the resurrection from among the dead (Philippians 3:10-11).”

May we like Paul have an intense desire to know God. He desires to know us intimately, but we must seek Him with diligence according to Hebrews 11:6.  God promises to reward those who diligently seek Him. I have discovered the action of seeking God as being an intentional action on our part. It is not a every now and then approach. It is a lifestyle of daily seeking the presence of God.

A quick mention about Hosea’s mention of “latter rain.” Most of the prophetic comments I have heard about “latter rain” is symbolic of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the latter days. The scriptural support would be Acts 2:17, where Peter quotes the prophet Joel.

May we all exhibit a striving spiritual desire to know God in these later days.

Action: I choose to embrace and exhibit a deep desire to know God.

Yield: I choose to yield my spirit to the leading and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Engage: I choose to engage in a lifestyle of pursuing Adonai.

Relationship: I choose to live in an intimate relationship with Adonai.

Prayer: Father, may I ever be pursuing You! I desire like Paul, to know the power of Your resurrection and the sharing of Your sufferings, becoming like You in Your death. Amen.

Memory Verse: Hebrews 11:6 “Now without faith it is impossible to please God. For the one who comes to God must believe that He exists and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.” TLV
