Attention: This journal is one of the most difficult to write about. I am not going to editorialize and provide information about the event which God refers to. I will allow you to do the reading and the Holy Spirit to do the speaking.
Through the prophet Hosea, Adonai reminds Israel of an event in Gibeah centuries before. God compares the people of Hosea’s days to the people found in Judges 19-21, as “deeply corrupted themselves as in the days of Gibeah.”
If God were to tell us that we were as depraved as Gibeah, would we listen? Would we repent and turn from our wicked ways? Or would we call God a liar and go about our own way. The book of Judges ends with these words, “in those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes.”
Action: I choose to embrace God’s assessment of the Israel culture in Hosea’s day.
Yield: I choose to yield to the Spirit of God in transforming my life to conform to His image.
Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirit in living a transformed life.
Relationship: I choose to live in holy, intimate, obedient lifestyle with God.
Prayer: Father, may I walk hand in hand with You in the power of Your Spirit. May Your followers embrace Your narrative about an international culture which is in opposition to You. Amen.
