Prayer: Father, prayer is such a vital conversation with you. May I learn from the examples of recorded prayers, how to pray. Amen.
Reading: Habakkuk 3 key: vs. 1-2 “A prayer of Habakkuk the prophet, as a passionate song. Adonai, I have heard the report about You and I have come to fear. Adonai, revive Your work throughout the years, throughout the years make it known, In wrath remember compassion.” TLV
Attention: Habakkuk opens his prayer with a statement of, “I have heard a report about You and I had come to fear (You).” When we have a proper prospective of Adonai, we will “come to fear” Him. I recently read, The Awe of God by John Bevere. I would encourage you to investigate this book to help establish a proper fear and respect of God. You will be in awe of Him.
I want to focus on Habakkuk’s prayer example to us. Prayer is a central communication with God, which needs to be anchored in the Holy Spirit and established in every follower of Messiah. Teach us to prayer was the one request by the Disciple of Yeshua. Recorded in Matthew 6:5-15, it becomes our model. Beyond Habakkuk’s prayer example, we have Psalms by David (Psalm 51), Moses (Exodus 32:9-14), Solomon (2 Chronicles 6:14-42), and Yeshua (Matthew 6:5-15).
I encourage every follower of Yeshua to make learning how to pray a priority in your relationship with Adonai. Pastor E.M. Bounds has authored a masterful book on prayer. If you get a copy, please do not be overwhelmed at the size of his book. It will be overwhelming just by sheer volume. People of prayer should be a key characteristic of true followers and worshippers of Yeshua.
I encourage you to ask the Ruach to teach you how to pray and ask Him to pray for you. Praying in the Spirit and having the Holy Spirit to pray for you will change and transform you.
Action: I choose to incorporate Spirit directed prayer into my relationship with Adonai.
Yield: I choose to submit to the Holy Spirit in my constant communication with Adonai in prayer.
Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirit in elevating my intimacy with Adonai.
Relationship: I choose to live in constant, intimate relationship with Adonai, Yeshua, and the Holy Spirit.
Prayer: Father, what a privilege to carry everything to You in prayer. I forfeit power when I do not pray in the Spirit. I forfeit victory when I do not pray in the Spirit. May I follow the declaration of Paul in Ephesians 6:18. Amen.
Memory Verse: Ephesians 6:18 “Pray in the Ruach on every occasion, with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, keep alert with perseverance and supplication for all the kedoshim.” TLV
