Prayer: Father, may Your servant and slave hear Your word today! Amen.
Reading: Haggai 2 key: vs. 4 “But now, Zerubbabel, chazak!”—it is a declaration of Adonai—“and be strong, Joshua son of Jehozadak, kohen gadol, and all people of the land, chazak!”—it is a declaration of Adonai—“ and work! For I am with you!”—it is a declaration of Adonai-Tzva’ot.” TLV
Attention: For every one of us, if we have lived enough life, there is a time when we need a word of encouragement. Who better to receive a word of encouragement than from Adonai, God. The people of Jerusalem have been in exile for seventy years and returned to devastation. Adonai’s declaration to them, “Chazak! Be strong!.” For I am with you and I all the silver and gold are mine (vs. 8). I own all the silver and gold. I will reclaim the silver and gold which was taken from Me.
We see these same words of encouragement from Adonai to Joshua, recorded in the book named after Joshua, “Have I not commanded you? Chazak! Be strong! Do not be terrified or dismayed, for Adonai your God is with you wherever you go (Joshua 1:9)!” Adonai is repeating Himself. Same message to a new generation. He has been declaring this same message to generation after generation and He is declaring the same message to us today. “Be strong” for My presence is with you and do the work which I have tasked you with.
We are facing similar days in the near future. Times of unparalleled destruction and judgement on our nation and nations who have turned away from Him. Be strong! His presence will be with His own. His presence is everything. He knows who His people are. Make sure the blood of Messiah is on the doorposts of your heart.
Action: I choose to be obedient to the declaration of the Lord. “Be strong!”
Yield: I choose to submit to the declarations of Adonai.
Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirit in being strong in the Lord.
Relationship: I choose to live in intimate, obedient relationship with Adonai.
Prayer: Father, Your presence is everything to me. Thank You for the indwelling of Your Sprit and manifestation of Your presence all around me. Amen.
Memory Verse: Ephesians 6:10 “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.” TLV
