Son of Nun

Prayer: Father, I desire to be like a young Joshua, filled with courage to accomplish Your will. Fill me with courage by Your Spirit. Amen.

Reading: 1 Chronicles 7 key: vs. 27 “Nun his son and Joshua his son.” TLV

Attention: There was a joke about young Joshua when I was in Bible School which asked; “Which person in the Bible had no parents?” The answer was Joshua because he was the son of Nun (none). Well, I know it was a play on words.

Joshua is one of the key central characters in the Old Testament. If you have followed the Choose Life Bible schedule, we read and journaled the Old Testament in year two. In Exodus 17, Moses instructs Joshua to select men to go into battle with. In Exodus 24 we see that Joshua is the attendant of Moses. In Numbers 27, Moses asks Adonai that He select a leader to lead His nation into the promised land. Here is the documented conversation: ““May Adonai, God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the community to go out and come in before them, who will lead them out and bring them out so that the people of Adonai will not be like sheep without a shepherd.” Adonai said to Moses, “Take Joshua son of Nun, a man in whom is the Ruach, and lay your hand on him. You will have him stand before Eleazar the kohen and the entire assembly and commission him before their eyes. Give to him some of your authority so that the whole community of Bnei-Yisrael will obey him. He will stand before Eleazar the kohen, who will pray and obtain judgments for him by Urim and before Adonai. At his mouth, they will go out and at his mouth they will come in, he and all the community of Bnei-Yisrael with him (Numbers 27:16-21).”

Imagine being commissioned by Moses to do something which Moses was not allowed to do. As great as Moses was, he was not allowed to enter the promised land. Joshua was a great man. However, in comparison, Moses was greater. How does Moses transfer his authority? He does it publicly and with the full authority given Him by Adonai.

In our day, we will see an increase in visions and dreams. We will also see the increase of prophecy and the offices of prophet and apostle. We will see an increase in anointing and authority upon all followers of Messiah.

Action: I choose to embrace the last days anointing and authority of Messiah’s followers.

Yield: I choose to submit to the authority and anointing of the Holy Spirit.

Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirit in power and authority of Messiah’s anointed.

Relationship: I choose to live in holy, anointed, obedient relationship with Adonai.

Prayer: Father, praise be to You and the power and anointing of Your Holy Spirit. I pray that You will raise up Joshua’s, Caleb’s, Daniels, Josheph’s, Samuel’s, Deborah’s, and Esther’s in this end time generation. They will exhibit great courage and faith, as they represent the Living God, supreme in all Your ways. Amen.

Memory Verse: Ephesians 6:10-12 “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you are able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the worldly forces of this darkness, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.” TLV
