Prayer: Father, teach me today the principles of Your way. What notable examples of Your workings in Your people. Amen.
Reading: 1 Chronicles 12:23 “Day by day men came to David to help him until there was a great army like the army of God.” TLV
Attention: Did you know that God has an army? He has an angelic army of which the writer of Kings tells us; ““Fear not,” he replied, “for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” Then Elisha prayed and said, “Adonai, please open his eyes that he may see.” Then Adonai opened the eyes of the young man and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha (2 Kings 6:16-17).”
David gathered his initial mighty men, but Adonai brought a spirit upon men who came to David “day by day,” till he had an army like “the army of God.” I took the liberty of calculating the numbers who were drawn to David, and I reviewed a couple Bible Commentaries. The consensus totals are between 340,000-350,000.
Not only did Adonai supply the warriors, but He also supplied caravans of food. God supplied in “abundance (vs. 40-41).” How else, what else but God.
We are God’s army on earth. As Ekklesia, we are to be a governing body of His kingdom. We are to battle and go to war against the principalities of this earth (Ephesians 6:11-13). Gentlemen, whether we accept the assignment as a warrior is not the point. We are in a battle whether we recognize it or not.
I encourage you to suit up and engage every day. We are told by the Ruach to “Put on the full armor of God,” not to consider it. If you are not suiting up, you are going out into the world fully exposed and vulnerable.
Action: I choose today to begin suiting up with the full armor of God!
Yield: I choose to submit to the mandates of God!
Engage: I choose to engage in battle against the enemy of God.
Relationship: I choose to live in relationship with God through His Holy Spirit.
Prayer: Father, I am overwhelmed with my naivety of myself. How for so many years, I did not see the war being waged against mankind and Your creation. Help me to open the eyes of many men who will engage in the battle. Amen.
Memory Verse: Ephesians 6:11-13 “Fear not,” he replied, “for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” Then Elisha prayed and said, “Adonai, please open his eyes that he may see.” Then Adonai opened the eyes of the young man and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.” TLV
