Prayer: Father, I am ready to learn from Your Spirit and Your word. Guide me great Jehovah! Amen.
Reading: 2 Chronicles 19 key: vs. 7 “Now then, let the fear of Adonai be upon you. Be very careful what you do, for there is no injustice or favoritism or bribe-taking with Adonai Eloheinu.” TLV
Attention: In John Bevere’s book The Awe of God he makes this statement, “When we lack holy fear, we’ll inevitably seek to get as close to the world as possible without falling headlong into it. However, if this is our motive, it is only a matter of time before the world draws us in. We must remember we are called into the world to reach the lost, not to be part of them.”
When we have statistics within the Christian Community of faith which shows little or no difference in lifestyle (i.e., divorce rates, pornography, drugs, suicide, etc.) then we must ask, who is influencing who?
Our current judicial system is prejudicial regardless of which side you embrace. Injustice is a current judicial and moral dilemma. We justify our position upon the current social trends and not the standards of God. Even the prophet Jehu went to King Jehoshaphat appealing to him to establish a judicial standard which was based on the Torah, the word and law of God.
When there is injustice, favoritism, or bribery-taking place, there is tyranny in the streets. When society loses its moral, ethical, and spiritual compass, we have lost our way and a return to God is needed.
I encourage you to base your moral code in the fear and awe of Adonai. When we have a healthy fear of God, transformation comes to our lives, into our homes, and into our communities.
Action: I choose to embrace a healthy awe and fear of God.
Yield: I choose to submit to the sovereignty of God.
Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirit in living for Adonai.
Relationship: I choose to live in holy relationship with Adonai.
Prayer: Father, You tell us in Your Word that the fear of You is the beginning of wisdom. May this wisdom spread across all the earth. I sense that we are close to experiencing another Elijah event in our lifetime, which will draw thousands and thousands of followers to You. I look forward to this transition toward holiness. Amen.
Memory Verse: 1 Kings 18: 37-39 “Answer me, Adonai, answer me, so that these people may know that You, Adonai, are God, and that You have turned their heart back again.” Then the fire of Adonai fell and consumed the burnt offering—and the wood, the stones and the dust—and licked up the water that was in the trench. When all the people saw it, they fell on their faces, and they said, “Adonai, He is God! Adonai, He is God!” TLV
