Prayer: Father, wisdom comes from You. Wisdom begins with You. Teach me today from the life of Jotham. Amen.
Reading: 2 Chronicles 27 key: vs. 6 “Jotham became powerful because he ordered his ways before Adonai his God.” TLV
Attention: We have all heard about people receiving notice from their doctor, to go home and get their “house in order.” It means, draft a will, do anything which needs to be done to leave this earth and prepare to die. Many of us wait to get our house in order. Jotham “ordered his ways before Adonai his God,” when he was young. His ordering prioritization with God, resulted in his “becoming powerful.”
What did he do? He built cities and military strongholds. He did what was right “in the eyes of Adonai.” He also respected Adonai, as he did not enter the Temple as his father had. He understood from his father’s failure, not to enter where you were not anointed to enter and respect the priesthood which Adonai created as His anointed servants.
We would do well to learn from Uzziah, to order our ways before God. He respected God. He had an appropriate fear of God. He respected God’s anointed priestly order. He knew his power came from God when his enemies were at peace with him and sent him silver, wheat, and barley. It is a demonstrative way of showing subordination to another king.
Our giving to the King of kings shows our subordination to him as well. Is your life in order with God? Do your actions show your subordination to God? A yielded life is a submitted life. The supremacy of God in your life is demonstrated by our ordering. Does He have first place?
Action: I choose to order my life unto the King of kings, Messiah Yeshua.
Yield: I choose to submit my life unto the King of kings.
Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirit in prioritizing my life unto Adonai.
Relationship: I choose to live in intimate, holy, obedient relationship with Adonai.
Prayer: Father, I praise You and thank You for the example of Jotham. Help me to order my life and honor You. Amen.
Memory verse: Colossians 1:15-18 “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created— in heaven and on earth, the seen and the unseen, whether thrones or angelic powers or rulers or authorities. All was created through Him and for Him. He exists before everything, and in Him all holds together. He is the head of the body, His community. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead— so that He might come to have first place in all things.” TLV
