It Happened So Suddenly

Prayer: Father, your servant is listening. Teach me this early morning! Amen.

Reading: 2 Chronicles 29 key: vs. 35-36 “There were also a great many burnt offerings, along with the fat of the peace offerings and the drink offering at every burnt offering. Thus the avodah of the House of Adonai was reestablished. Hezekiah and all the people rejoiced because of what God had enabled the people to accomplish, because it happened so suddenly.” TLV

Attention: The scriptures are full of action by God, Yeshua, and the Ruach Elohim. In the book of the apostle Mark, he descriptively uses the word “immediately” or “straightway” in some translations. The apostle Luke likewise uses the word “immediately” to capture the healing of a woman with an issue of blood (Luke 8:44). Luke also captures the birth of Christ by saying, “And suddenly a multitude of heavenly armies appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth shalom to men of good will (Luke 2:13-14).” And again, the apostle Mark records that after Yeshua’s baptism, “That instant, the Ruach drives Him into the wilderness (Mark 1:12).”

All are action statements and there are many more. So, if God elects to heal, deliver, or save, how long does it take?

The action of the Hebrew people, the priests of God, and a king, happened suddenly. Why? Because the kohanim had consecrated the Temple and themselves. They had prepared for a move of God by preparing themselves and the Temple. To consecrate something is to dedicate the object of consecration to God. The preparation process is to clean and purify, then they worshipped.

As New Testament followers of Jesus, we are the temple of God. His Spirit dwells within us. My question is, are we providing a clean, purified temple daily for Him to dwell in? They purified with the blood of animals. We purify with the blood of Jesus.

May we all consider purifying ourselves before the Lord today. Begin by confessing your sins to Him and repenting. Then worship Him in the beauty of holiness, like king Hezekiah and the people of Judah did that day.

Action: I choose to consecrate myself to God through the blood of Yeshua.

Yield: I choose to submit to the sovereignty of God.

Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirits help in consecrating myself today!

Relationship: I choose to live in holy, obedient relationship with God.

Prayer: Father, all my praise I raise up to You. May my prayers and my praise be a fragrant incense to You. I fall short of Your glory. Be glorified today! Amen.

Memory Verse: 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 “Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Ruach ha-Kodesh who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body.” TLV
