Essence of Apple

Prayer: Father, thank You for the power of Your word. May I apply it today. Amen.

Reading: Song of Songs 2 key: vs. 3 “Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest, so is my lover among the sons. In his shadow I delighted to sit, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.” TLV

Attention: I like fruit. All kinds of fruit. As a child, I grew up with Cherry trees (Bing & a pie cherry tree), an Italian prune tree, a peach tree, a pear tree, Concord grape vines, and two Apple trees (a Yellow Delicious & a Harvest Apple tree). Apples are a favorite fruit, and the State of Washington is known for Its apple harvest. Wenatchee is the Apple Capital of the World, so I have feasted on the best apples possible.

My wife and I have chosen to use the apple as a symbol of our love. We have two glass apple figurines, one filled with red glitter and the other with purple glitter. They are a great reminder to both of us, of our love for each other.

I remember fondly, how my dad used the peach as a term of endearment to my mother. He purchased personized license plates with the word “Peach” on them.

Guys, if you are married, I encourage you to utilize a fruit as a meaningful term of endearment for your wife. Just the memory and thought may go a long way to providing you an avenue to shower affection of your beloved.

Action: I choose to engage with using fruit as a term of endearment for my wife.

Yield: I choose to submit to the Holy Spirit and express terms of endearment on my wife.

Engage: I choose to engage in the romantic expression of endearments.

Relationship: I choose to honor my beloved with a term of endearment.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for the example of scripture. How romantic is Your expression of endearments in Song of Songs. Amen.

Memory Verse: Song of Songs 2:4 “He has brought me to the banquet house and his banner over me is love.” TLV
