Prayer: Father, thank You for the instruction of Your Word. Your Word is truly, a light unto my feet. Amen.
Reading: Song of Songs 3 key: vs. 5 “Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you, by the gazelles and does of the field: Do not arouse or awaken love until it delights.” TLV
Attention: How many of us played around or even indulged our desire before marriage? If we were in a room together, most hands would be up if this question was asked of us. Most of us understand this command or charge by the writer of Song of Songs.
This is a message for those who are single, whether young, divorced, widowed, to not awaken love until appropriate, until married. There are good reasons for this charge. What should make either party believe you have been chaste if you cannot be chaste with them?
I encourage you to consider the charge of the writer of Song of Songs. It may save you each a world of grief.
Action: I choose to be chaste if I am single and if I should ever be in the place where I am considering remarriage.
Yield: I choose to submit to the authority of God and His word.
Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirit in establishing a standard of purity.
Relationship: I choose to live in holy, intimate, obedient relationship with God.
Prayer: Father, thank You for the charge of the writer of Song of Songs. May we as Your followers embrace the standards which You have set for us.
Memory Verse: Song of Songs 3:11 “Go out, daughters of Zion, and gaze upon King Solomon, with a wreath his mother placed on him on the day of his marriage— on the day of his heart’s joy.” TLV
