Prayer: Father, my I learn about romantic love from the expert in romancing a relationship with my wife. Amen.
Reading: Song of Songs 4 key: vs. 7 “You are altogether lovely, my darling, and no blemish is in you.” TLV
Attention: I once saw a Christian artists rendition of the woman which the writer of Song of Songs is describing. Picture if you will the descriptive adjectives used to depict the woman of his dreams. It does not describe in modern terms what one would think of in writing to his beloved.
As husbands, we have a few times a year to make sure we express those things unexpressed during the rest of the year, namely, birthday and anniversaries. Make sure to utilize those opportunities to maximum benefit for your wife.
In fact, here is a free pointer. Do not use the language of Song of Songs, chapter 4. Do not use battle armament to describe her body. But do tell her that she is “altogether lovely.” Use words like beautiful, the best, there is no other like you, I picked your above the rest and I would do it all over again! I give you this advice for free!
Choose your words wisely. Make them unique to her and only her. You are investing in your relationship. You are investing in her!
Action: I choose to invest wisely through the ear canal of my wife!
Yield: I choose to yield to the wise counsel of the Song of Songs.
Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirit in investing in my marriage.
Relationship: I choose to live in holy, intimate, relationship with my wife.
Prayer: Father, may Your instruction be invested in every relationship with every married man reading today’s journal. Amen.
Memory Verse: Song of Songs 4:9 “You have captivated my heart, my sister, my bride— you captivated me with one of your eyes, with one jewel from your necklace.” TLV
