Prayer: Father, thank You for the words of wisdom. May I embrace the wisdom which You gave the author of Ecclesiastes. Amen.
Reading: Ecclesiastes 12 key: vs. 1 “So remember your Creator in the days of your youth: before the days of misery come, and years draw near when you will say: “I have no pleasure in them.” TLV
Attention: I am thankful that I was introduced to my Creator as a child. I remember fondly, the Bible I was given around age ten. I carried it to school in both junior & senior high school. My classmates teased me giving me the nickname, “Moses.” I was selected out of my senior class to read Matthew 6:25-34, the passage on overcoming worry by trusting in God for your provision.
There is a definite advantage to establishing a proper view of God at an early age. It will serve you the rest of your life, especially as you age and grow older. You can tell by the attitude of an aging person whether their hope is in God. Those who know not God have a noticeable despair and uncertainty about life.
If you are a parent or grandparent, choose to establish with your children a heritage of faith in the Creator. It will pay dividends for eternity.
Action: I choose to plant the knowledge of the Creator in my children.
Yield: I choose to submit to the sovereignty of God as my Creator.
Engage: I choose to engage in leaving a spiritual heritage to my children.
Relationship: I choose to live in intimate, holy, obedient relationship with Adonai.
Prayer: Father, I acknowledge You as the Supreme Creator of the Universe and mankind. May those who read today’s journal embrace and establish a spiritual legacy and leave a spiritual heritage for their children.
Memory Verse: Deuteronomy 6:6-7 “These words, which I am commanding you today, are to be on your heart. You are to teach them diligently to your children and speak of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down and when you rise up.” TLV
