Prayer: Father, teach me today from the story of Esther and Mordecai. Amen.
Reading: Esther 7-8 key: 8:11 “The king granted the right for Jews in every city to assemble themselves and to protect themselves—to destroy, kill and annihilate any army of any people or province that might attack them and their women and children, and to plunder their possessions.” TLV
Attention: Currently, the world is against Israel and their right to self- determination. In the book of Esther, Haman (a Greek (Agagite) and not a Persian by birth, is elevated to position which gives him access to the king. Much like the story of Daniel, Haman realizes that Mordecai and his people (Jews) were not bowing to him, disrespecting him. He develops a hatred for the Jews and work for their demise, extinction.
Esther’s appeal to the king for her people, moves king Ahasuerus to action, granting all Jews to “assemble themselves and to protect themselves” against “any army of any people or province that might attack them and their women and children, and to plunder their possessions.” From the king, they now had the authority to defend themselves.
How many times has the nation of Israel had God supernaturally intervene in protecting His people. Is He acting on their behalf today? Are His covenants with the people of Israel eternal (Genesis 17:7-8; 1 Chronicles 16:15-18)?
Before you are persuaded by the current narrative in support of Palestine, you might want to read the covenants which are recorded in Genesis and 1 Chronicles and determine if “forever” means “forever.” They are eternal (forever) in translation.
If the kings of the land have the authority demonstrated by Ahasuerus (and they do), does not the King of Kings have ultimate authority, supremacy?
Action: I choose to recognized Adonai’s ultimate protection and forever covenant with Israel.
Yield: I choose to submit to the ultimate supremacy of Adonai.
Engage: I choose to engage with the Adonai as the supreme ruler of heaven and earth.
Relationship: I choose to live in intimate, holy, obedient relationship with God.
Prayer: Father, Your covenants are everlasting. They do not end. They do not expire. You are a faithful covenant keeping God. Amen.
Memory Verse: 1 Chronicles 16:15-18 “Remember His covenant forever, the word that He commanded for a thousand generations— that He made with Abraham, swore to Isaac, and confirmed in a decree with Jacob to Israel as an everlasting covenant, saying: “To you I give the land of Canaan as your allotted inheritance.” TLV
