Prayer: Father, I know since You purposed a “lamp” in Jerusalem, it will happen and continue. My heart grieves for Israel and Jerusalem. I declare that Your purposes will prevail through all generations. Amen.
Reading: 1 Kings 15 key: vs. 4-5 “Nevertheless, for David’s sake, Adonai his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem, raising up his son after him and establishing Jerusalem. For David did what was right in Adonai’s eyes and did not turn aside from anything that He commanded him all the days of his life, except in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.” TLV
Attention: I am writing this journal on a Monday following attacks on Israel. It is a sad day to see the violence and hatred which has historically been purposed against a people whom Adonai covenanted with through David, centuries ago. The covenant eventuated in the birth of Messiah through the lineage of David documented in the first chapter of Matthew.
If you are being taught that whether Muslim or Jew, we serve the same God and you accept that as fact, you have not read the Pentateuch, the first five books of the Old Testament. While Abraham is the father of both Jews and Muslims, the Jewish nation of Israel and the child Isaac, are the chosen nation and line of Adonai. Even though Ishmael, father of Islam nations was born first, he was not the promised son. Isaac was the promised child and covenant child (Genesis 17:20-21).
Adonai covenanted with David to secure his throne forever (2 Samuel 7:16). David’s lineage would be forever established and was fulfilled in the birth of Messiah. Through Abraham (Genesis 15: 1-6), Adonai covenanted for the nation of Bnei-Yisrael.
One cannot understand the declaration of 1 Kings 15:4, unless they know the covenants which preceded and were based on. One cannot accurately understand and interpret the actions of the middle east today, if they do not understand and embrace the Covenant making God, Adonai.
It is vital that followers of Yeshua, understand the Covenants established by Adonai forever. The covenants are “forever”, and they are perpetual to all future generations.
Actions: I choose to establish an ongoing, everyday lifestyle of time spent with Adonai.
Yield: I choose to submit to the Holy Spirit in living an obedient lifestyle to Adonai.
Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirit to be transformed into the image of Yeshua.
Relationship: I choose to live in intimate relationship with Adonai.
Prayer: Father, I choose today to be knowledgeable of the Old Testament and how the Old Testament covenants impact us today. Help us to be wise and knowing. Amen.
Memory Verse: Genesis 17: 7-8 “Yes, I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your seed after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, in order to be your God and your seed’s God after you. I will give to you and to your seed after you the land where you are an outsider —the whole land of Canaan—as an everlasting possession, and I will be their God.” TLV
