Adonai Revealed Himself

Prayer: Father, reveal Yourself to me today, through Your Word and in vision and communication. Draw me close to You. I love being in Your presence. Amen.

Reading: 1 Samuel 3 key: vs. 21 “Adonai started to appear once more in Shiloh, for Adonai revealed Himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of Adonai.” TLV

Attention: Have you ever wondered why there have been times like in the era of Eli and Samuel when Adonai was silent? Likewise, have you ever wondered why Adonai is silent in your life?

The house of Eli had brought judgement upon themselves by disrespecting Adonai through sacrifice and worship. Eli’s lack of rebuking his sons was the final straw.

Did you notice where the young boy Samuel was sleeping? He was sleeping near the ark of Adonai. The ark represented the presence of Adonai and Samuel wanted tot stay in His presence. Do you long to stay in the presence of the Lord? Scripture says, “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you (Jacob/James 4:8a).” Our action precedes God’s action.

Young Samuel did not know the voice of God, but he learned quickly, and Eli was able to direct him. May was come to know His voice and respond as Samuel, ““Speak, for Your servant is listening (vs. 10b).” May we see an increase of Adonai’s voice speaking to us in visions, dreams, scripture, and verbal promptings.

Action: I choose to draw close to God and seek His voice in scripture, visions, dreams, and audibly.

Yield: I choose today to yield to the Holy Spirit’s promptings to draw close to God.

Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirit drawing close to God.

Relationship: I choose today to draw closer to God.

Prayer: Father, I want to be always close to You. Draw me close to You. Give me ears to hear You with a willing heart. Amen.

Memory Verse: Jacob (James) 4: 8a “Speak, for Your servant is listening.” TLV
