Appointed Times

Prayer: Father, You appoint times and seasons which show Your supremacy over nature, planets, and stars. All is within Your control. Amen.

Reading: Ezekiel 46 key: vs. 10-11 “When they enter, the prince will come in among them. When they go out, they will go out together. “At the feasts and the moadim, the grain offering will be an ephah for a bull and an ephah for a ram, and for the lambs a gift of his hand and a hin of oil for an ephah.”

Attention: If you are following the Choose Life Journal schedule through the book of Ezekiel, you noticed that a second video link for the BibleProject.com which covers chapters 34-48. Theologians have differing views about this last section of Ezekiel according to the Bible Project, some have a literal view of Ezekiel’s end time prophecy, and others have a symbolic.

There were two words which caught my attention in chapter 46, “prince” and “moadim.”

Since chapter 44, Adonai introduces to Ezekiel the term “prince.” I would have expected the term king, or “kohen gadol (high priest), but not prince, for the one who is presiding over the worship in the new temple. If you subscribe to the literal view, this “prince” seems to be a literal person who leads the nation in worship and recognition of appointed times as declared by Adonai to be observed.

Some have speculated is this “prince” the Messiah returned? If we accept John’s description in Revelation, Messiah is to return as King and be worshipped, not lead worship. Also, this prince has “sons” which Yeshua would not.

The term ‘moadim” means, “appointed times.” Adonai appoints times, as confirmed, and told to Ezekiel. He sets the times at His command and administers them. Giving appointed times to man through His prophet (s) and messengers.

Let’s be mindful of the times which Adonai commands and controls. He sets the times and seasons. He knows the beginning from the end. All nature responds to His commands. May we be as responsive and obedient as all nature.

Action: I choose to embrace Adonai’s command of time and space.

Yield: I choose to yield to God’s supremacy over all things.

Engage: I choose to engage in the worship of the all supreme Adonai.

Relationship: I choose to live in holy, intimate, obedient relationship with Adonai.

Prayer: Father, I do not understand everything about Your Word, I do not have to. I walk by faith in the power of Your name. Amen.

Memory Verse: 2 Corinthians 5:7 “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
