Appointed Times of Celebration

Prayer: Father, You are the appointer of times. You know the times and the seasons. Help me to acknowledge and embrace the times which You appoint. Amen.

Reading: Leviticus 23 key: vs. 42-43
42 You are to live in sukkot for seven days. All the native-born in Israel are to live in sukkot43 so that your generations may know that I had Bnei-Yisrael to dwell in sukkot when I brought them out of the land of Egypt. I am Adonai your God.”

Attention: Appointed celebrations were given by Adonai to Moses to relay to the Hebrew nation. What were the purposes of the appointed celebrations? They were to “celebrate it as a festival to Adonai,” they were to celebrate each festival as “a statute forever,” and each celebration would serve as a reminder “so that your generations may know that I had Bnei-Yisrael to dwell in sukkot when I brought them out of the land of Egypt.” Notice that evert appointed celebration, every law of the Torah which Adonai gave Moses, ended with the declaration by Adonai, “I am Adonai your God.”

Every celebration and every Torah law had a purpose, just like every holiday (comes from the word holy day) of our nation has a purpose, as a memorial to every generation.

May we celebrate the memorial of the Lord’s table which Yeshua instituted. We honor Yeshua because He declared, “Do this in remembrance of Me (Luke 22:19).” Paul reminded the Lord’s community in Corinth (1 Corinthians 11:24) of Yeshua’s request.

After seeing the Festival’s which Adonai instituted for the Hebrews, may we also understand the significance of Yeshua’s requests of His followers.

Action: I choose to observe the Lord’s table often and be obedient to Yeshua’s request to remember Him by this action.

Yield: I yield to Adonai when I am obedient to Yeshua’s command.

Engage: I will engage in the observance of the Lord’s table.

Relationship: I choose to observe the Lord’s table often, in remembrance of Him.

Prayer: Father, I praise and celebrate the resurrection of Yeshua. Your only Son who died for me on Calvary. Amen.

Memory Verse: Luke 22:19
19 And when He had taken matzah and offered the bracha, He broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body, given for you. Do this in memory of Me.”
