Ask! For One Thing

Prayer: Father, You tell me to “ask” of You. Give me faith to “ask” You first and only. You want to be my provider, Adonai Yireh. Amen.

Reading: Psalm 27 key: vs. 4
One thing have I asked of Adonai,
that will I seek:
to dwell in the House of Adonai
all the days of my life,
to behold the beauty of Adonai,
and to meditate in His Temple.

Attention: If you were to ask God for one thing, what would it be? David asked to dwell in His presence “all the days of his (my) life.” His son Solomon was asked of God in a dream (1 Kings 3: 5-15), what he would want. His response, “wisdom,” and God was so pleased that He also gave him riches.

Is God the first to whom you run to request or ask for help, protection, provision, insight, wisdom, blessing and care? He wants to be our heavenly, divine Father beyond our comprehension. He says, “ask Me or test Me” (Malachi 3:10b), “if I will not open for the widows of heaven, and pour out blessing for you, until no one is without enough.” He stands ready to fulfill His word.

If God were to ask you like Solomon, “Ask for what should I give you?,” what would you say? Would you reply like David and ask to stay in His presence all the days of your life? Or would you ask for wisdom like his father, David? Ponder today and “ask.”

Action: I ask to remain in Your presence God all the days of my life!

Yield: I repent of not coming to You and asking for my needs.

Engaged: I am engaged and yielded when I repent.

Relationship: I am in full relationship when I seek You to “ask” for my needs.

Prayer: Father, You say in Your Word, I have not because I do not ask. Thank you for the reminder. I ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Memory Verse: Matthew 7:7-8
“Ask, and it shall be given to you. Seek, and you shall find. Knock, and it shall be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it shall be opened.
