Prayer: Father, like the psalmist today asks, “How long, O God, will the adversary mock? I know unlike the psalmist that You will not allow this forever. I look forward to You silencing the adversary, forever. Amen.
Reading: Psalm 74 key: vs. 9-11
9 We do not see our signs.
No longer is there any prophet—
and no one among us knows how long.
10 How long, O God, will the adversary mock?
Will the enemy revile Your Name forever?
11 Why do You hold back Your hand, Your right hand?
Draw it out of Your bosom and consume them!
Attention: In the time of the psalmist, the nation of Israel was God’s covenant people. Anyone outside the borders were pagan nations with pagan gods. Everyone outside of God’s covenant people and nation were wards of satan. It was very discernable, who was who. But as the people of God’s nation began to compromise, the enemy infiltrated. How did they compromise? A key transition was when they transitioned from being a theocracy (under God’s leadership through one anointed man), to wanting to be like the other nations and establish a monarchy (Kings).
Intermarriage had become common, but the transition from theocracy to monarchy blended Jew and Greek (non-Jew) and accelerated the process. Solomon was gifted foreign women who became his wives, and they brought their gods with them. To appease his wives, Solomon even erected shrines or places of worship so that his wives could worship their gods. Scripture warns us and documents that it was Solomon’s wives who turned his heart away from God.
Why do I tell you this? We have a two-party system of governing. Both are corrupted and infiltrated. If satan can control the narrative and place his agents within both parties, he is not concerned who wins because his agenda will continue. The distinction in Israel was noticeable. Today, discernment is required. Are you able to tell which senators, governors, legislators, and presidents are serving which agenda? There are two masters according to Romans 6. Which master are they serving? Which master are you serving? We need only to subject ourselves to the Master who counts.
Action: I will pray against and speak against the master which seeks to destroy us. I will worship the Master who is for me.
Yield: I am yielded to God when I am His exclusively.
Engaged: I am engaged with God in this battle.
Relationship: I am in full relationship when I know who the enemy is and join with God in opposition to the enemy.
Prayer: Father, may I see the world through Your eyes and understand Your narrative. When I know the original Creator, I can discern the counterfeit. When I listen to You, I know Your voice and I discern the evil imitation, partial lies, and deception. In Messiah’s name, amen.
Memory Verse: Romans 6:19
19 I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you yielded your body parts as slaves to uncleanness and lawlessness, leading to more lawlessness, so now yield your body parts as slaves to righteousness, resulting in holiness.
