Prayer: Father, may I accept that which You have chosen. Amen.
Reading: 1 Samuel 10 key: vs. 20-24 “So Samuel brought all the tribes of Israel near, and the tribe of Benjamin was chosen. Then he brought forward the tribe of Benjamin by its clans, and the clan of the Matrites was chosen. Finally, Saul son of Kish was chosen. But when they looked for him, he could not be found. Therefore, they inquired of Adonai further, “Has the man come here yet?” Adonai answered, “He has just hidden himself among the baggage.” So they ran and brought him from there. When he stood among the people, he was taller than any of the people from his shoulders up. Then Samuel announced to all the people, “Do you see the one Adonai has chosen? Surely there is no one like him among all the people!” Then all the people shouted and said, “Long live the king!” TLV
Attention: The repeated word “chosen” is found in various translations as ‘“predestinate, foreordain, determine, and call” to indicate that God has entered into a special relationship with certain individuals and groups through whom He has decided to fulfill His purpose within the history of salvation (Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary pg. 474).”’
That which God has chosen, cannot be changed, or altered. What He has chosen in Scripture, He foreordained and declared as His purpose. Man cannot change what God has chosen or ordained.
Saul was clearly chosen. In succession, God chose Saul’s tribe, the Benjaminite’s, God then chose Saul’s clan, then He chose Saul. In our key scripture, following the declared choices of Adonai, the people of Israel affirmed God’s choice by shouting, “Long live the king!”
Did you know that if you are a follower of Yeshua, you are chosen? According to 1 Peter 2:9-10 “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. Once you were “not a people,” but now you are “God’s people.” You were shown “no mercy,” but now you have been shown “mercy.”
If you have responded to the invitation of God to follow Yeshua, you have been adopted into His “chosen people….a people for God’s own possession…(so now), proclaim the praises of the One who called (chose) you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”
Action: I choose today to acknowledge God’s choosing me to call me out of darkness into His marvelous light” of salvation.
Yield: I choose to yield to God’s gift of choosing me for salvation.
Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirit being a chosen vessel of His.
Relationship: I choose to be God’s chosen possession!
Prayer: Father, what a glorious privilege to be Your possession. I praise You and declare my ownership. Thank You for calling me out of darkness and into Your marvelous light. Amen.
Memory Verse: 1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” TLV
