Confront Jerusalem

Prayer: Father, I have pondered this chapter of Ezekiel for a couple of days. Speak through me as You spoke to Ezekiel. Amen.

Reading: Ezekiel 16 key: vs. 1-3 “The word of Adonai came to me saying: “Son of man, confront Jerusalem with her abominations and say, thus says Adonai to Jerusalem: ‘Your origin and your birth are from the land of the Canaanite; your father was an Amorite, your mother was a Hittite.” TLV

Attention: In the apostle Paul’s letter to the Ephesian followers of Yeshua, he implores them “Take no part in the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them— for it is disgraceful even to mention the things that are done by them in secret (Ephesians 5:11-13).”

Knowing this scripture from the Ruach through Paul, I pondered for a few days how the Ruach Elohim wanted me to approach the topic of Jerusalem’s reproach. I am not going to talk about what they were doing in secret but allow the Ruach through the reading of God’s word to expose what was being done in secret. Please read and study this chapter for the full impact of what God was asking of Ezekiel and exposing Jerusalem.

The Hebrew community by Adonai’s command through and to Joshua, was to “possess” the land (Joshua 1:11). To possess the land was to conquer it, subdue it, take complete ownership. All the nations and peoples who were currently residing on the land which God had given Abraham as an inheritance (Genesis 12:1-5), were to be fully dispossessed of the land. Not following His command led to the intermarrying of other cultures and living amongst those who served other gods.

I do not need to reiterate what Adonai reveals to Ezekiel. The question I hear from God is this; If I task you with the same command as Ezekiel, would you be willing to declare my word to your Jerusalem?

Action: I am willing to do whatever You task be to do and go wherever You ask me to go.

Yield: I am submitted to Your Ruach Lord.

Engage: I choose to engage in the tasks You have assigned me to do and go.

Relationship: I choose to live in relationship with the Holy Supreme Adonai.

Prayer: Father may all who read today’s scripture be confronted with the message and tasks which You have called them to do. Help us all to be doers and not only hearers of the word. Amen.

Memory Verse: Isaiah 6:8 “Then I heard the voice of Adonai saying: “Whom should I send, and who will go for Us?” So I said, “Hineni. Send me.” TLV
