Prayer: Father, You can cause all things to come into alignment with Your will. May we see our leaders and priests come into alignment with Your will. Amen.
Reading: Ezra 6 key: vs. 14 “So the elders of the Jews continued building and prospering through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. They finished building according to the command of the God of Israel and according to the decrees of Cyrus, Darius, and Artaxerxes, kings of Persia.” TLV
Attention: I have heard war stories from pastors, contractors, and those in charge of church building programs about the obstacles they faced in getting a project completed. From opposition with the surrounding community, to battles with city hall in getting plans approved, it became an act of God moving all hearts in the same direction to get the project completed.
So, with Ezra’s account of the Temple reconstruction we see God’s intervention. King Darius issues an order for a search of the archives and discovers that King Cyrus issued a prior decree “concerning the House of God at Jerusalem.” With this knowledge, King Darius instructs all parties (even the opposition) to not interfere with the project and he decrees what is to be done “for the elders of the Jews” who are rebuilding the “House of God.” To help finance, construct, and furnish the Temple, they are to pay the elders from the royal treasury and supply “whatever is needed,” including sacrificial animals, wheat, wine, oil, and salt.
Have you ever heard of non-believing heads of state, making decrees in favor of a spiritual project and paying the construction fees and all associated costs? Who but Adonai could pull everything and everyone’s heart into alignment regarding a House for Him? Yes, it was a God thing! There was an alignment which only He could accomplish.
Are you praying for a God alignment for Your home? Your church? Your city? Your nation? Alignment begins with us. I encourage you to ask for a God alignment today in your life, your home, your city, and your nation. Let’s see what happens when we get aligned with God.
