E-Crier: February 2024 Edition

Hello Friends,

If where you live is like where I live, you have just been through some very cold, harsh weather. We had temperatures with wind chill which reached 5 degrees. We had a few trees which fell near and around our property, but not on our property. We have water delivered in five-gallon bottles; they froze solid. We burned a lot of wood in our fireplace insert, but we kept warm and with God’s help, we survived.

I hope that you are well and warm. I am not claiming that winter is over. We may still experience some cold weather, but I want you to know we are praying for your safety and we are here journaling with you. I am enjoying our study in Isaiah and hope you are steadfast in your daily journey with Messiah. During February, you will read Isaiah’s prophecies of a coming Messiah. God told Him of Messiah centuries before the fulfillment of Yeshua coming to earth. While you are cloistered inside your home, I encourage you to open your Bible and open your heart to Messiah.

I journaled on Chapter 53 yesterday and reminisced about The Passion of the Christ movie. If you have never viewed Mel Gibson’s movie, I encourage you to consider watching. Be warned, the scenes of Yeshua’s beating and crucifixion are brutal and graphic. The movie is a worthy depiction of the death, burial, and resurrection of Messiah.

Remember, 2024 is a leap year, so there will be 29 days. On the schedule, this will be a bonus day. Please consider doing a chapter or word study on the 29th. I have yet to determine what I will journal. It will be a surprise!

Blessings,

Rolland

Spotlight: Politics

It is vital that we have kingdom people of influence in every aspect of society. People who embrace Ekklesia as their identity are active in the legislative affairs of the Kingdom and society.

We recently held an election in Woodland, Washington and installed a new Mayor and a couple new council members. I had the pleasure of having a conversation with Todd Dinehart, newly installed mayor of Woodland.

Todd campaigned on issues of transparency and accessibility. You will hear his heart and outspokenness about his faith throughout our conversation. I appreciate his candor and willingness to fulfill his campaign promises.

Please welcome Todd Dinehart to our First Place Ministries zoom platform. (CLICK HERE)

Tell someone you love them! Tell several someone’s Yeshua loves them!

1 Corinthians 13 is titled the “Love” chapter. Frequently, we need reminding of how God defines “love.” Here is what the Apostle Paul recorded.

The Superior Way of Love

If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels but have not love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to remove mountains but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all that I own and if I hand over my body so I might boast but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not brag, it is not puffed up, it does not behave inappropriately, it does not seek its own way, it is not provoked, it keeps no account of wrong, it does not rejoice over injustice but rejoices in the truth; it bears all things, it believes all things, it hopes all things, it endures all things. Love never fails— but where there are prophecies, they will pass away; where there are tongues, they will cease; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part; but when that which is perfect has come, then that which is partial will pass away. When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known. But now these three remain— faith, hope, and love. And the greatest of these is love. TLV
