Epiphany

Prayer: Father, may I gain new insight into Your Word and may the eyes of those who have joined me on this journey be opened to new revelation. Amen.

Reading: Genesis 15 key: vs. 4-6
Then behold, the word of Adonai came to him saying, “This one will not be your heir, but in fact, one who will come from your own body will be your heir. He took him outside and said, “Look up now, at the sky, and count the stars—if you are able to count them.” Then He said to him, “So shall your seed be.”
Then he believed in Adonai and He reckoned it to him as righteousness.

Attention: Have you ever had an ah-ha moment? An ah-ha moment is that moment when you make a profound and significant discovery. You may also call this moment an “epiphany.” According to the Cambridge English Dictionary an epiphany is, “a moment when you suddenlyfeel that you understand, or suddenlybecomeconscious of, something that is very important to you.”

In Genesis 15, Moses documents a conversation between Adonai and Abram in which, Adonai reveals His Covenant with Abram. Adonai provides Abram with the ultimate visual aid. Adonai invites Abram outside (I assume outside his tent), and said, “Look up now, at the sky, and count the stars… then He said to him, so shall your seed be.” Translation. Your family, thru Sarai, thru Isaac, will be astronomical. I will cause this to be!

The key moment in this text, “Then he (Abram) believed in Adonai and He (Adonai) reckoned it to him as righteousness.”

As with Abram, we all have an epiphany when we “believe in Adonai.” We cannot approach salvation in Yeshua without belief. We must believe before we receive. Does this belief translate into firm resolve with Abram. Not at all. This covenant is years from fruition. The story line takes a deviation before the promised child is born. Abram is over a decade away from seeing the promise consummated, and millennia later still being fulfilled.

I pray for you, that you may have an epiphany with Adonai today. If you don’t have a relationship with Adonai, if you don’t believe Him for a promise which He has made to you, if you haven’t sought Him for something as important as an heir (vs. 2), may you ask today. May today be the day which is pivotal in your journey with Adonai.

Action: I will ask for something on par with Abram’s ask for an heir.

Yield: I will yield by asking of Adonai something of vital importance to me.

Engage: I engage with Adonai when I ask!

Relationship: When I ask in His will, He provides.

Prayer: Father, I ask on behalf of those who are joining me in this journey to seek You with all our hearts, minds and souls. I praise You for the epiphanies which You have brought to me. I ask for more understanding and revelations of Your holiness. Amen.
