Even If

Prayer: Father, thank You for the sunshine which is pouring through my windows today! Open my eyes to Your truth, reveal me to Your mind. Amen.

Reading: Ezekiel key: vs. 14 “Even if these three men—Noah, Daniel and Job—be in it, they would only deliver their own souls by their righteousness.” It is a declaration of Adonai.”

Attention: In Genesis 18:16-33 we get to listen in on a conversation between Adonai and Abraham. Adonai has revealed to Abraham that the behavior of Sodom and Gomorrah is “grievous.” Adonai was considering going down to Sodom and Gomorrah and investigate “if they deserve destruction, as its outcry has come to Me. And if not, I will know.” Abraham’s concern was, if Adonai was to destroy an area, would He continue with His plans if there were righteous people living there.

In reading the Genesis passage, I discovered something about the conversation which I had not noticed. Adonai considered revealing His plan to Abraham for Sodom and Gomorrah because He promised to make Abraham, a great nation. “I have made myself known to him so that he will command his sons and his household after him to keep the way of Adonai by doing righteousness and justice, so that Adonai may bring upon Abraham what He has spoken about him.” Adonai was counting on the patriarch to relay his spiritual heritage to his family so that they would follow their father’s heritage and avoid destruction.

Abraham began with negotiating for the sparing of Sodom and Gomorrah with fifty righteous people and negotiated with ten righteous as his final plea. For all of Abraham’s negotiations, Adonai would spare Sodom and Gomorrah. We know that Sodom and Gomorrah were not spared, but “angels rushed Lot, his wife and two daughters” to safety (Genesis 19:15-26).”

Interesting that Adonai tells Ezekiel, “Even if these three men—Noah, Daniel and Job—be in it, they would only deliver their own souls by their righteousness.” It is a declaration of Adonai.”

It is only through the righteousness of Messiah by which we are saved (Romans 3:23-25). Even the righteousness of Noah, Daniel, and Job, cannot “deliver” our souls. They could not during the time they lived nor since. Mans righteousness is not capable of saving anyone.

Action: I choose to place my trust in the righteousness of Messiah.

Yield: I choose to run with the righteousness of Messiah.

Engage: I choose to engage with the righteousness of Messiah.

Relationship: I choose to live in holy, intimate relationship with Adonai through Messiah.

Prayer: Father, there is no other name by which man can be saved. There is no other name by which I have been saved, only Yeshua. Thank You for the blood of Yeshua, which cleanses me from all unrighteousness. Amen.

Memory Verse: Acts 4:12 “There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved!” TLV
