Fountain of life

Prayer: Father, Your faithfulness is amazing. You meet my every need. The fountain of life comes from You. Amen.

Reading: Psalm 36 key: vs. 6-7
Your love, Adonai, is in the heavens,
Your faithfulness up to the skies.
Your righteousness is like the mountains of God.
Your judgments are like the great deep.
You preserve man and beast, Adonai.

Attention: Myth surrounds a legendary explorer named Ponce De Leon who became the first known European to set foot on what would become known as America. He thought he had landed on an island and named the peninsula he thought to be an island “La Florida.” Legend has it that the natives told him that there was a fountain of youth in Bimini.

There is today a Ponce De Leon Fountain of Youth Archeological Park in St. Augustine, Florida which contains the rumored restorative waters the explorer was seeking.

The psalmist David subscribes the fountain of life to Adonai, “For with You is the fountain of life—In Your light we see light.” Adonai is our, is my source of life. He gives us every breath we breathe, every heartbeat (involuntarily, automatically, which is a good thing), and is the source of every good and perfect thing under heaven.

God offers us eternal life through Jesus. He never offered or promised us eternal youthfulness. He does promise us a way to have a long life on earth though (Exodus 20:12, Ephesians 6:2). If you haven’t discovered the truth of these scriptures, I encourage you to do some exploring today!

Action: I acknowledge Adonai as my source of life eternal today, through Jesus and I will honor my parents that I may have long life upon the earth.

Yield: You O Lord are the source of my life.

Engage: Order my steps Adonai.

Relationship: I begin relationship when I repent and acknowledge Adonai as the giver of eternal life through Jesus.

Prayer: Father, You are my source of life. In You alone I trust. Amen.

Memory Verse: Acts 17:28b
In Him (Adonai) we (I) live and move and have our (my) being.
