Prayer: Father, help me to see and feel the futility of those who are trying to live without You. Amen.
Reading: Ecclesiastes 6 key: vs. 1-2 “There is a misery that I have seen under the sun, and it is heavy upon humanity. God gives a man riches, wealth and honor, so that he lacks nothing that his heart desires, yet God does not enable him to eat from it—instead a foreigner will eat it. This is fruitless—an agonizing illness.” TLV
Attention: Misery is defined as a state or feeling of distress or discomfort of mind or body, or I might add, of both mind or body. Have you known anyone who is always miserable and makes those around them feel miserable too?
The apostle Paul gives us a definition for contentment, “I am not saying this because I am in need—for whatever circumstance I am in, I have learned to be content. I know what it is to live with humble means, and I know what it is to live in prosperity. In any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of contentment—both to be filled and to go hungry, to have abundance and to suffer need. I can do all things through Messiah who strengthens me (Philippians 4:11-13).”
The antidote for misery, is contentment, and Paul says he is content in all situations. Why? He knows that God is the source of all our supply. He will take care of us and provide all that we need.
I encourage you to focus on God’s supply and not your lack. Do you really lack from need or want? It is God who supplies all our needs according to His riches.
Action: I choose to embrace the God of all supply!
Yield: I choose to yield to the sovereignty of God.
Engage: I choose to engage with the Holy Spirit in supplying my needs.
Relationship: I choose to live in holy, intimate, obedient relationship with God.
Prayer: Father, You supply all my needs! Your provident nature is sure. I have experienced it throughout all my years. Thank You. Amen.
Memory Verse: Philippians 4:19 “My God will fulfill every need of yours according to the riches of His glory in Messiah Yeshua.” TLV
